Meet Manager

The Meet Manger is the general manager of the entire competition. They have duties before, during and after the meet.

Duties:

  • The overall role of the Meet Manager is to manage the meet, not perform every task but to delegate to individuals or team of volunteers to support.
  • Prior to taking on the role of Meet Manager, a personal commitment must be made:
    • Availability of time (pre meet, during the meet, and after the meet
    • Ability to delegate work to volunteers, maintain teamwork and adhere to timelines
    • Ability to monitor progress on multiple priorities

Meet Manager Clinic

Meet Managers must complete the Meet Manager Clinic (in person or online) and complete two (2) on deck evaluations to attin this credential.

Log into the Learning Management System (LMS) via REMS to see upcoming clinics being offered.



Getting Started

Meet Managers need administrative access to REMS to list meets and apply for the meet sanctions. After an individual has completed the Meet Management Clinic (online or in person), they may be given REMS Administrator status.

Responsibilities

In accordance with Swim NB policies/procedures and Swimming Canada rules:

  • Develop a Meet Package using Swim NB Meet Templates
  • Apply for and manage changes to a Sanction with Swim NB through REMS
  • Develop a Meet Database (Hytek/Splash/other) that follows the approved sanction
  • Manage club entries through REMS to build the meet database
  • Manage the competition per the meet package and sanction, ensuring safety procedures are followed (see Rules & Forms below)
  • Review and upload meet results to REMS
  • complete all required paperwork


The Meet Package


The Meet Manager must apply for Swim NB sanctioning by submitting the Meet Package using REMS.

To assist with the sanctioning process, Swim NB has developed templates for meet managers to use when developing their Meet Package.

Meet Packages must be submitted for sanction based on the type of meet:

Meet Listing in REMS

  • Once a Meet Package has been submitted to REMS for sanctioning, they are considered "Listed"
  • All meets listed will show on Swimming Canada's Upcoming Meets Events Page with limited details (Name of Meet, Start Date, Host and course).
  • Once Listed, the sanctioning requirements will be verified by Swim NB before the Meet is approved/officially sanctioned

Meet & Sanction Fees


A competition's Meet Fee includes a portion that goes to Swim NB for sanctioning the meet and a portion to the hosting club to pay for the expenses to run the competition

Meet Fees

Swim NB sets the maximum allowable Meet Fee for Host Clubs. A portion of these Meet Fees is sent to Swim NB for sanctioning the meet.

Meet Fees have not been increased since 2023. Swim NB will be reviewing them early in the 2026-2027 swim season.

Swimmer count will be basted on the Results File athlete count (Not the entry summary report)
